As the number of visitors to historic gardens has increased dramatically in recent years, demand has grown for information about the history both of individual gardens and of garden styles. This alphabetical glossary of over five hundred entries explains and illustrates such terms so that readers of garden literature and visitors to gardens may appreciate more fully what they are reading about or seeing.
