Globalisation, climate change, environmental protection, migration, diversity, and interculturality imply a range of different social challenges. What is common in this context is sustainability. Sustainability of education is and remains an important issue on a number of educational levels. This monograph Requirements and Approaches for Contemporary Teacher Training contains 23 contributions. Although they present a variety of discussions, these contributions share a common base: they are all linked to national and international perspectives on current issues and trends in teacher training in the areas of pre-school and primary education. The contributions discuss different challenges, opportunities, and pedagogical approaches for educators.
