Close the Gate is part of a picture book collection designed to introduce toddlers and young children to basic concepts and help them establish positive lifelong habits. Close the Gate uses rhyme and repetition, as well as colorful illustrations, to capture a child's attention and build vocabulary. The story and pictures in Close the Gate give added meaning to the concepts of "open" and "close" and show what could happen if a gate is left open. The book also introduces the concept of a farm, common farm animals, and the sounds the animals make, and demonstrates the need to establish the habit of always closing a gate after it is opened. If your child does not think to close the gate or the door, this book may help.
