Author Description


NEIL KAGAN, former publisher and managing editor at Time-Life Books, heads Kagan & Associates, creator of innovative illustrated books. During his 30-year career he has created award-winning illustrated book series including Voices of the Civil War, What Life Was Like, Our American Century, and the Time-Life Student Library. DR. JERRY H. BENTLEY, head of the book's advisory board, was a professor of history at the University of Hawaii and editor of the Journal of World History. An expert in the history of cross-cultural interactions, he has written and edited several books including Traditions and Encounters: A Global Perspective on the Past.
