Author Description
After a year in a performing arts school in California, Ann-Charlotte Robinson earned a B.A. in Communications with a concentration in television and film from American University. A year in documentary filmmaking with a Virginia production company led to nearly a decade in Los Angeles pursuing opportunities to write and produce in the industry. When the Hollywood lifestyle lost its appeal, Ann-Charlotte moved home to Virginia where she discovered an unexpected talent for and deep interest in landscaping. She also rekindled her lifelong interest in acting and began working extensively with local, community, and regional theater companies as well as continuing with some of her writing projects, particularly focusing on children's stories. While operating her landscaping company, Ann-Charlotte met and married her husband Martin and they had two sons. Writing children's books gave way to reading them to eager boys nestled in her lap. When it came time for them to enter grade school, Ann-Charlotte began a new career as the Director of Development and Community Relations for their school, a liberal arts independent called Wakefield in The Plains, Virginia. Over the years, Ann-Charlotte has taken every opportunity to nurture her children's love of language and the arts, perhaps especially story telling in all its forms. Presently, Nicholas is in college and William is in high school and both are lifelong readers. In addition to her continued participation in theatrical projects, she is currently involved in an independent feature film, and serves on boards of local non-profits dedicated to providing opportunities in the arts to her community.
