Description

Beyond Baker Street is a shadowy realm where cultists worship Earth's past masters, the gods of the Cthulhu Mythos. Sherlock Holmes has seen beyond reality's veneer and applied his keen analytical mind to the nightmare logic that drives ordinary men insane. When followers of evil try to free their monstrous masters, they find Sherlock Holmes ready to confront them.

Author Description

Ralph E. Vaughan is the author of several Sherlock Holmes novels and stories, notably "The Adventure of the Ancient Gods," the first-ever crossover between the literary worlds of Holmes and Lovecraft. Other books include "The Dreaming Detective," "Sherlock Holmes and the Coils of Time," and "The Terror Out of Time." He is the creator of the popular Paws & Claws YA adventure series, beginning with "Paws & Claws: A Three Dog Mystery," in which the amazing canines of the Three Dog Detective Agency protect the weak and innocent inhabitants of their Chula Vista (Calif) neighborhood, thwart the evil plans of the nefarious Feral Gang, and occasionally save the world. The series includes "A Flight of Raptors," "K-9 Blues," and the controversial "The Death & Life of American Dog." Among his science fiction books are "Shadows Against the Empire," and "Amidst Dark Satanic Mills," interplanetary steampunk adventures set in the late 19th Century. A writer since the late 1960s, he has published more than 300 short stories in a variety of magazines and journals, some of which are included in "Beneath Strange Stars," a collection of tales from more than forty years of writing. A former military photojournalist, he has written hundreds of feature articles; as an expert on fantasy writer HP Lovecraft, he has also written many articles for fannish and scholarly journals, as well as the authoritative "HP Lovecraft in the Comics." He is a long-time resident of Chula Vista, California. He is married and has two children, a daughter who is a game designer and playwright and a son who is a conductor for the BNSF railway system.
