The day a Show King was the King showcases the Hawaii Pet Show's 2014 Spring Event in Ewa Beach. We gathered for a Meeting, Lunch and Show at Cam and Joy's house. Hawaii Pet Show aka Ewa Bird Show is a Non Profit Organization striving to get children off their computers and into the yard with pets. Having children to play in the sun while learning how to care for animals is a crucial part of growing up with important values in life. "The day a Show King was the King" is a small glimpse of our world here in the islands. We love our pets and treat them as family. The Hawaii Pet Show series of books will showcase all we have to offer. Teaching our children techniques for a healthy relationship with their forever friend will build a strong child and better adult. The Saturday after Father's day we gather on the campus of Ewa Elementary School. Under the trees we have a Pigeon show, Chicken show, Reptile show and Fish display. Food Trucks, Kids Zone and Ewa Craft Fair is located in the cafeteria area. Free admission and free parking for all our guests who wish enjoy lunch in old Ewa Town. Please join us and make a new friend while learning about Chickens, Pigeon, Fish, Reptiles and Birds...History of Hawaii Pet Show aka Ewa Bird Show: When a earthquake hit Hawaii causing a island wide black out, Cameron saw first hand how dependent his family was on electricity. Getting them into the sun and out in nature was a tricky situation. Caring for animals was a natural thing for him, but he needed to teach his family basic techniques for making a pet a happy and healthy one. Unplugging every weekend is a first step for anyone who wants to get outdoors with pets. the right step is sometimes the hardest one to take, but animals makes it so much easier to do. Cameron and his team of volunteer makes sure everyone at the Hawaii Pet Show enjoys the event and learns how to get back to basics. "Getting children off their computers and into the yard with pets is not only our mission, its our way of life."


Author Description


Cameron Datanagan was born and raised in Hawaii, but travels the world sharing his love for animals. He and his family teaches other families to care for pigeons, chickens, fish, reptiles and birds through their events in their community. He is currently the National Pigeon Association State Representative for Hawaii and a United Parcel Service Driver. He also is a leader for a 4H small animal group on Oahu. Cameron is proud to be one of the founding members of the Ewa Bird Show and Hawaii Pet Show. As a Campbell High graduate, he never moved far away and kept his roots strong within the community. He also was awarded the Eagle of the Cross from Catholic Diocese of Hawaii. Serving others is a way of life taught to him by his parents and grandparents. The Golden rule was always part of his way of life. He also believes "For every good there is a bad, so never be complacent, just move forward and it will work out". He works hard be important to those important to him. Cameron is a proud father, loyal husband, honorable son and friend to all who loves his weird sense of humor. He has many hats in the working world and being a author has always been on his bucket list. Funeral Counselor, Ordained Minister, Mortgage Solicitor, Website Designer, Facebook Administrator, Application Designer, Event planner, Emcee, Event Photographer, Delivery Driver, Biographer, Event Videographer, Pigeon Judge, Community Leader and a Brother is some of the jobs he has held in his wonderful life. He often says that his mind is a sponge so soak up whatever he can before it's too late.
