Author Description


MICKEY HUFF is the director of Project Censored and on the board of directors for the Media Freedom Foundation. He is a professor of social science and history at Diablo Valley College in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he is cochair of the history department. Huff is cohost with former Project Censored director Dr. Peter Phillips of "The Project Censored Show." The program airs weekly as part of "The Morning Mix"on Pacifica's KPFA Free Speech Radio in Berkeley CA, and rebroadcasts on several stations including No Lies Radio and the Progressive Radio Network out of New York City. "Censored 2014" is the fifth Project Censored yearbook he has edited for Seven Stories Press.
DR. ANDY LEE ROTH is associate direct of Project Censored and a sociologist. He serves on the Media Freedom Foundation board of directors. His research appears in the 2008-11 editions of "Censored" and a number of social science journals, including the "Harvard International Journal of Press/ Politics"; "Social Studies of Science"; "Media, Culture & Society"; and "Sociological Theory." He lives in Northern California with his sweetheart Liz, and two extraordinanry cats, Sasha and Ed.
PROJECT CENSORED, founded in 1976 by Carl Jensen at Sonoma State University, has as its principal objective the advocacy for and protection of First Amendment rights and the freedom of information in the United States. In 2008, Project Censored received the PEN/Oakland Literary Censorship Award for the publication of "Censored 2009."
