Dr. Mary Jane Hodges Vance, born in Manila, Philippines, missed having a childhood during Japan's Occupation in WW II. Becoming an educator helped her get around to it...the childhood she missed. Undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees earned from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-Commerce) led to being a teacher, Flash Director, and administrator in public schools; Assistant Director and Director of Field Experiences at ETSU; Dallas Area Coordinator-Texas A&M; Executive Director for the Consortium of State Organizations for Teacher Education in Texas; and, The Association of Teacher Educators International Executive Board.
