Description

Join the Penguineapigs for a sweet rhyming story about rejection, bravery and monsters who aren't as bad as they seem...

The Penguineapigs are cute little creatures, nearly always scared out of their wits. They're scared of everyone and everything, (they've even banned beds so monsters don't live under). The one thing that makes them all the most scared, however, is the Octopussycat, whose island they share.

Whenever the Octopussycat tries to join them for their daily swim, they get terrified and all run away and hide.
One day they are doing just that, when something very unusual happens to one of them, a Penguineapig called Pete.

Now, Pete the Penguineapig is like all the rest, he isn't the worst and he isn't the best. But suddenly when he pops his head back over the water after hiding from the Octopussycat, the poor little penguineapig discovers that everyone is suddenly afraid of him.

And so begins Pete's adventures as he is rejected by his friends and forced to wander the island alone, until eventually he meets and befriends the Octopussycat, who is a lot friendlier than people were led to believe by their group prejudice against their local monster.

"The Bravest Penguineapig" is written in dramatic verse which is great for reading out loud and works perfectly for families and groups with mixed ages between 4 and 8. It is one of the stories from the series "The Adventures of Bearwolf" by DCR James.
