Description

Horse Tales is a compilation of stories and photos about the wild horses living along the Lower Salt River and Saguaro Lake in the Tonto National Forest near Phoenix, Arizona

Author Description

Larry Stimeling is a disabled Vietnam Veteran who found a passion in photography and wild horses when he moved to Arizona from the Mis-west in 2013. The Wild horses are an important part of his PTSD therapy. As Winston Churchill said, "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man." That is certainly true for Larry. He spends at least 5 days a week between 5 and 10 hours a day in the Tonto National Forest observing these iconic parts of American history. By just watching them and learning the herd dymanics as well as the individual horses' personality he gets a peaceful feeling.
