There is so much pressure to perform and be perfect in parenting. Bring in homeschooling and the stress only increases. Am I teaching all the right things? Will my kids fall behind? Am I doing enough? Am I doing too much? I am ready to quit. Give up. Why am I even doing this? If we keep this up, we will feel like we are failing at homeschooling, and consequently, at parenting. Can We Be Real? Let's be honest here. Homeschooling is HARD. I mean, super hard! I thought parenting was grueling and demanding. But when I started homeschooling my oldest, it was brought to a whole new level. And I have my teaching degree!!! Can I let you in on a little secret? My degree has not been all that helpful in my homeschooling journey. For my teaching and supporting homeschool families, yes, it beneficial. But for actually homeschooling my kids, it hasn't been the thing to make or break my success as a homeschool mom. Does that surprise you? Honestly, I don't think anything can prepare a mom for the rigors of home education. We just gotta jump in with both feet...and swim. And maybe just stop (more than) once in a while to enjoy the water. Confidence Grows Over my years of home educating my own children and coaching moms in their homeschool journey, I've learned some valuable tips. Things that have either been forgotten or completely overlooked. I have been in the trenches. I've experienced frustration and disappointment in my homeschool voyage. I've been uncertain and I've faced doubt. However, when I learned some fundamental truths about home education, that's when my journey changed. Now, don't get me wrong, I still have 'one of those days' every so often. But they do not rule my journey. They do not get in the way of my confidence - my God-confidence. And I want to share these truths with you, my friend, in my new book, Confidence Building Secrets to Becoming More Successful in your Homeschool. Because if there is one thing I pray often it is that the families I work with will be confident in their calling to home educate their children.
