Nancy Harkey is now retired from California State University, Pomona, where she was a professor of psychology for many years. She received her Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University, where she studied both developmental and physiological psychology. She later taught a variety of courses in child development, biological psychology, and experimental methods. She lives in Claremont, California and is the mother of four adult children and eight grandchildren. Co-author, Teri Jourgensen is employed by the City of San Francisco as an Organizational Development Trainer and Facilitator. She has a Master's degree in public administration and is a certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator trainer. Nancy and Teri are a mother-daughter team. Together they developed all the temperament measures used in Parenting by Temperament, and brought this to completion in this parenting book.
