Author Description
Jo Anne Hartel got a Master's Degree in Teaching ESOL from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, VT. She taught ESOL, Reading and Writing to adults at the Community Learning Center in Cambridge, MA since 1976. Betsy Lowry has a BA in psychology from Wellesley College, 1969. She earned a MA in French Literature from University of Texas, 1983. After moving to Boston in 1985, Betsy taught ESOL for 14 years at the Community Learning Center in Cambridge, where she has been the director for the past 4 years. Whit Hendon is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He works at the Community Learning Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts and teaches a literacy level class using Sam and Pat.
