The work is titled "Examination malpractice and its adverse effect on Educational in Plateau State: The study of Mangu local government areas of Plateau State". The study attempted to assess the causes and effects of examination malpractice among secondary school students in Nigeria. The main objective of the study was to examine the causes of examination malpractices among secondary school students. Three hypotheses were formulated within the ambit of poor preparation, lack of motivation of teachers and menace of incompetence as stimulant of examination malpractice. The area scope of the study is Mangu local government area of plateau state. The time frame was from 2004 to 2014. The study was a field, survey and documentary research. The sampling techniques adopted for this study was the simple random techniques. Questionnaire and interviews was the basic instrument used for this study. The data of the study were presented, analyzed using statistical tools such as tables, simple percentage, cumulative percentage and charts. The hypotheses of the study were tested using chi-square.
