This is a cute funny, delicious simple story told in verse about a square black bear with no hair getting ready to hibernate for the winter months. Because he has no hair, he needs clothes to keep warm. The wonderfully vibrant watercolor illustrations bring the story to life.
As with all kids, he's a bit messy, and so the fun begins for the reader and the listener as you watch this independent 'child' fend for himself. Choices and compromises are made, his thought process' are fun to watch as he makes quick choices and also stops to think things through. Eventually he will meet his goals, be pleased with himself and the results.
There are little life lessons to be learned: put your stuff back where they belong, stay organized, be prepared, be ready to compromise, and laugh at yourself.
