Building custom software for autonomous vehicles can be challenging and constitutes a barrier to entry. The Autoware Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting open-source projects enabling self-driving mobility. Chairman of Autoware and founder of TIER IV, Shinpei Kato, is pioneering the open source technology for autonomous vehicle design and shares with us the accomplishments and future prospects of this open source platform.
