今天一起來看finally(adv.)最後、at last 終於、eventually (adv.)最終地和in the end 最後。大家有沒有覺得這幾個字都是最後和終於的意思？中文的意思看起來差不多，有時也可以互換，但是他們都有些微的不同，請看以下介紹。
(一) finally 最後；終於
這個字finally 有幾個主要的用法，當某事持續一段時間歷經不同的挫折與困難後，終於達成某事可以用finally，用finally可以表達正面或負面的情緒。另外，finally用在順序，就是講話的時候說finally 就是要強調最後一點，這時候你也以用lastly來替換。
例句1: I finally found someone.我終於找到那個人。
例句2: He finally landed his first job. 他最後終於找到第一份工作。
例句3: Finally, I'd like to end by thanking you all for coming today. 最後，我要感謝你們今天來。
(二) at last 終於
用at last表示等待好久一段期間，有暗示在這期間不耐煩或是不方便，但是最後某事終於完成的概念，意思跟finally可以互換，不過at last要表達的語意finally 更加的強烈。
例句1: The bus has arrived at last. 公車最後終於來了。
例句2: Tom and Linda are here at last. 湯姆和琳達終於來了。
例句3: My friend got her PhD degree at last. 終於，我朋友拿到她的博士學位。
(三) eventually (adv.) 最終地; 終於
這個字eventually 是沒有講明時間何時會發生，不會太快，但最後一定會發生，意思比較屬於不偏不倚或負面的意思居多，有時我會把這個意思解釋成不可逆的概念。
例句1: We all die eventually. 我們最終不免一死。
例句2: Eventually, you will end up where you need to be. 最終你會回歸到你所屬的地方。
例句3: Eventually, they ran out of money and had to sell their company. 最終他們沒錢只好賣掉公司。
(四) in the end 最後
用in the end 來表示在決定的過程中，有很多分析與討論，後來有不同的改變，可以用in the end，或是所有事情發生之後，最後的結果。
例句1: In the end, they decided to keep their house. 最後他們決定把房子留下。
例句2: She failed her driving test 6 times, but she passed it in the end. 她考駕照六次，最後終於考過了。
例句3: Everything will be all right in the end. 最後一切都會沒事的。
